Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church
SEAFARERS' PROTECT
Our church continues to support our Women of the ELCA with the Seafarers' Project. We will be collecting the items listed below starting Sunday, October 13th thru November 3rd. The items will be put in medium-size boxes, wrapped with Christmas paper and delivered to the Baltimore International Seafarers' Center. The gifts will be distributed to the seafarers when they come into the port of Baltimore starting in late November thru the Christmas holiday.

The items needed are toothpaste, toothbrushes, dental floss, deo-dorant, shaving cream, soap, hand cream, disposable razors, pens, notepads, flash drives, postcards of Baltimore or DC, chapstick, playing cards, knit hats, warm gloves and socks. The gloves and socks should be medium-size since many of the mariners are Asian. We will be purchasing New Testaments to put in the boxes.

The Seafarers' Center requests that the boxes weigh no more than 3 lbs. as the workers at the Seafarers' Center like to carry five boxes at a time to the ships. To keep the weight down they ask that we purchase the smaller size cans of shaving cream, hand cream, etc.

If you do not wish to purchase any of the items, we would appreciate any monetary donations to help purchase the New Testaments or items needed. Should you prefer to write a check, please make it out to Christ Lutheran Church or CELC (in the memo ... put for Seafarers). Many thanks for all your help!

There will be a box in the back of the church to put any items you would like to donate. If you need more info, contact Joann Chirdon at 410-987-4280 or bjchirdon@comcast.net.
